In this paper, it will be investigated in what ways contrastive analysis might be helpful as a method for the analysis of discourse particles. The domain imposes some restrictions on the employment of contrastive analysis. However, a method will be proposed which guarantees comparability, and the results will be evaluated against other methods for the description of discourse particles.
