Information is an important part of communication to deliver the message by communicator so that it can be transmitted as well. Display is a component of the environment that giving information to human so they can accomplish their work. One of information that given by the display is location of destination, such as command display and location map. Command display serves to strengthen visual quality of environment so people can feel the space around and giving specific mark to make the place memorable. Andalas University is one of locations where display should be placed. Based on preliminary study conducted by distribute questionnaires to 40 participants of SNMPTN (National Selection to Enter University) who first time visiting Andalas University, it is found that 93% of respondents said that it was difficult to find locations they want to visit using the map located in the display board. Therefore, research is needed with implementing ergonomic science in designing informative command display and location map thus it will be easier to reach the location in Andalas University. The steps in design command display consist of determine alternate color, alternate font type, combination of color and font alternative, display spot area and display designing for each spot. For designing location map, it follows concept of understanding Andalas University’s area, design concept, determine placement of map, and describe map. The study results location map dan command display of Andalas University which minimize the difficulties of finding location in Andalas University
