Quality is vital to an enterprise. According to the study by international experts and scholars on the quality problems in various industries, 80% of the quality problems are recurrent problems and only 20% are new ones. Therefore, the improvement of these 80% recurrent quality problems is the key to promote the quality of product. To solve the 80% recurrent quality problems, the project of making flexible use of KNOW-HOW file card is launched and improved in Hefei Haier washing machine company.In this paper, the new method of KNOW-HOW flexible using is presented. The application of KNOW-HOW on preventing recurring quality problem is discussed, including the aspects of the design of the comments and formats for KNOW-HOW,the innovation for pushing on the project, the results of practice, sharing and flexible using. Also, the important role of the new flexible using pattern of KNOW-HOW played in the improvement of product quality and the quality management system is expounded. During the development of KNOW-HOW project, the contents and formats of KNOW-HOW file card are standardized, the KNOW-HOW platform including information platform has been established.and a new operating system is gradually formed to get a smooth progress of the project
