Isi artikel
Sigma level is the numerical value that indicates a possibility that defective items are produced in a specific process. The sigma level becomes higher, as a process has a lower possibility to produce defective items, namely, as the process has higher quality. For instance, a six sigma level is a better process than a three sigma level. Sigma level is a measure used to evaluate the quality levels of various processes including manufacturing, business process and R&D. This paper presents methods to calculate the sigma levels of processes in a variety of situations. If quality characteristics are a variable type, this paper presents a method to calculate sigma level in the case of a normal/non-normal distribution. This paper also deals with a Binomial distribution/Poisson distribution, in case quality characteristics are attributes type. This study calculates sigma level using MINITAB software, representative software for Six Sigma
