Design of experiments is a methodology for conducting experiments effectively; it has been beneficial tool for developing new technology including computer simulation for technology development such as digital engineering whose core is computer simulation. One of the typical problems facing application of computer simulation is to explore feasible region of factors, where design of experiments are expected to work well. Computer experiments usually treat large number of factors with wide range of levels. Consequently, there is a need to explore the large region spanned by large number of factors. In the multi-dimensional region, the set of factor levels space which obtains feasible result of computer simulations is very limited, where the feasible results imply the success of simulation. This paper discusses application of design of experiments for exploring the feasible region of factors in computer simulations. Specifically, design criteria for the exploring region are discussed. In addition to the above, we discuss a case study, where the guideline includes application of space filling design, sequential design and so forth
