Isi artikelObjective: To acknowledge the development of people with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) after receiving antiretroviral (ARV) therapy in Jakarta, especially in Kramat 128 Hospital, based on CD4 and viral load (VL) levels and quality of life (QOL).Methods: A cross-sectional analytic study performed at outpatient clinic of Kramat 128 Hospital Jakarta, throughout November 2010 until January 2011. QOL is assessed with WHOQOL-BREF instrument. The data were analyzed using Chi-Square test and ANOVA test. Results: The longer PLWHA use ARV therapy, the more CD4 levels increase (p=0.015) and the more viral load reduce (p=0.001). The highest percentage of PLWHA with better QOL and were satisfied with their health (p=0.024 and p=0.003) were found on the subjects who used ARV therapy longer than the others. There were significant relationship between physical domain of QOL with longer use of ARV therapy (p=0.043).Conclusion: Obedience of at least two years while ARV therapy will improve CD4 levels, reduce viral load until it is undetectable, and improve QOL. Subjects are also satisfied with their physical condition.
