Isi artikelThe study focuses on the determinants of job performance such as emotional intelligence and demographic profile variables among 134 bank managers deployed in the private sector of the Middle East countries such as United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman. The demographic profile variables were limited to age, civil status, educational attainment, and work tenure. Descriptive, correlational-survey methods were employed to ascertain the demographic profile variables of the respondents and to assess their relationships. The researchers utilized three instruments: Demographic Profile Sheet, Emotional Competence Inventory, and a standard Performance Appraisal for Managers. The study confirms that there is a significant relationship between job performance and the demographic profile variables such as age, civil status, and educational attainment but not with work tenure. The findings also reveal that there is a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and job performance.
