Isi artikelGreece is now faced with the need for reforms in many fields. But what is certain is that Greece is called immediately to take decisions on ways of tackling unemployment. New business creation is one of the most important factors for reducing unemployment. Entrepreneurship, according to the literature, is a key factor in creating new businesses. Thus, as seen from the documents and the strategies of the European Union, the strengthening of entrepreneurship is now included among the objectives of education systems of all EU countries. One of the most important variables for robustness and business booming is entrepreneurial education. Within the objective, attributed to entrepreneurial education, to provide information and professional guidance, universities and other educational institutions in Greece organize information events on entrepreneurship. This article presents results of the questionnaire survey which was answered by students and graduates who attended an event of awareness on entrepreneurship and the ability to do business. The event was organized by the Career Services Office of the University of Macedonia on “Information on the Investment Law 3908/2011.” The aim of the event was to inform students and graduates who are interested to set up business and new entrepreneurs on opportunities for funded projects. In this article we study the importance of education in fostering entrepreneurship and the cultivation of entrepreneurial spirit. Specifically, its purpose is the presentation of research results regarding the views and perceptions of students and graduates in Greece for entrepreneurship and the role of education in their decision for doing business.
