Networks and clusters are seen by many experts as innovative approaches in the development of tourism sector. As a result, the purpose of our paper is to study the relevance of this theory in Romanian tourism industry. The analyze starts from a relevant literature review on networks, clusters and forms of tourism’s innovations. Further we present examples of cooperation from Romanian tourism sector at national, regional and local level. The paper ends with practical recommendations for operating and developing clusters and networks in tourism, as well as theoretical contributions to the growing research in this area.
