Isi artikelThis paper aims to investigate the conjunctions used in DELE, especially in the Reading Comprehension Tests for Taiwanese students who learn Spanish as a foreign language, because recently they are obliged to pas level B1 of DELE before they graduate from university. Based on previous conjunction studies of Montolio (2001), Portoles (2001), Dominguez (2007), Marti Sanchez (2008) and Calsamihlia & Tuson (2002), first of all, we will give a semantic and pragmatic description of conjunctions and their classification in Spanish. Secondly, we will use the instrument of UAM Corpus Tool as an auxiliary tool to analyze the frequency of conjunctions used in the Reading Comprehension Tests in level B1 of DELE. Thirdly, we will study the relations between the use of conjunction and the topics of texts. Finally, we will show examples of subordinate clauses extracted from DELE with the use of different types of conjunctions, for the purpose of providing references for learning as well as teaching Spanish as a foreign language in Taiwan.
