This project investigated newly enrolled Chinese students at one such university, aiming to measure their vocabulary size, ascertain their vocabulary learning strategies, and discover whether students with large vocabulary sizes employed significantly different learning strategies to those with small vocabulary sizes. It is hoped that the results will improve educators’ understanding of Chinese students entering English-medium university environments.
