English as international language is widely used in most companies in Indonesia both in speaking and in writing. Therefore, in the job selection process, English test is included as one of the components in the test selection process. Bank BRI also includes English Writing Test in selecting its prospective employees. The purpose of the study is to identify the common grammatical errors made by the prospective employees of Bank BRI of Palembang Branch on 28 February 2013. The population of the study was one hundred candidates coming from a number of cities in Sumatera Island, and the whole writing papers of the candidate were analyzed to identify the most common grammatical errors made by the candidates. The errors were analyzed using descriptive analysis to get the pictures of the errors most and less frequently made by the candidates. The results of this study can be used as an input for Bank BRI Human Resource Development as well as for the English teachers so that the teaching of writing can be improved. For this reason, university graduates are more ready to win the job competition.
