Water is often pilluted unfiltered human waste. Organic waste such as herbicides and pesticides as well as inorganic waste such as heavy metals af Cadmium, Lead, Zinc, Mercury, Iron and Arsenic, all could cause serious pollution. This article objective is to determine the ability of Eichornia crassipes to clean out heavy lead from water. Eichornia crassipes was planted in various concentrations (3, 6 or 9 plants in * L medium of water) into two levels of initial lead concentrations (1 ppm and 20 ppm) in a plastic bag with diameters of length 33 cm, width 24 cm and height 12 cm consisting of Hoagland gara of 0,25 x concentration. Eichornia crassipes was harvested on 5th, 10th, and 20 th day. Medium sample was taken at every hara replacement on the 5th day continuously. Lead concentration was determinde by Dithiozon method at alpha of 510 nm. The results of the analysis showed that Eichornia crassipes had influenced on decreasing lead concentration in medium. Optimal concentration of Eichornia crassipes was 6 plants. Efficiency in dissolving Lead at 1 ppm was better compared to 20 ppm.
