Isi artikel
For almost as long as there has been bioethics, there have been demands for it to be more empirically informed and for a greater emphasis to be placed on the role of the empirical in bioethical deliberation. These demands have taken a number of different forms, ranging from relatively straightforward pleas for the greater use of empirical evidence to enrich philosophical bioethics all the way through to demands for fully-integrated ‘hermeneutic’ approaches. Of particular interest in the present context are the arguments that have been made for the development of ethnographic approaches to bioethics.
