There are many researchers who discovered that most of university students do not have an adequate writing skill in a good bahasa indonesia. They often make mistakes in grammar, punctuations usage as well as in composing coherent paragraphs. Bahasa Indonesia given to the students of Senior High School is mainly emphasized on learning grammar, but at the university they focused more in writing. There are many reasons why the lecturers spent more time in grammar teaching but not in writing skill, due to the supply being not enough, consuming time to correct all students work, etc. This paper will show at glance the observation of the condition of bahasa Indonesia in the faculty or economics at Atma Jaya University, Jakarta. The Alwasilah suggestion namely the collaborative writing method, is taken to solve a big class problem.
