This study is purposed to test the effectiveness of cognitive restructuring techniques for students who have a low self esteem. The method used in the research is a quasi experiment with nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The research samples are student of eleven grade at high school students. Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung academic year of 2012/2013 who have low self esteem with simple random sampling technique. The results showed that the thought record and reinforcement given systematically on the cognitive structure of the student are empirically proven to effectively improve aspects of the self-esteem of students.
