This is a research about the techniques used in translating children literature and the quality of its translation found in Bilingual books Erlangga for Kids Series. The aims of this research are first to identify the translation techniques applied by the translators in translating children literature. The second purpose of the research is to identify the effects of translation techniques applied by the translators toward the translation’s quality in the matters of accuracy, acceptability, and readability. The last purpose is to identify which technique is better to the accuracy, acceptability and readability. The results show that there are 10 translation techniques used by the translators. Most of those techniques give positive effect toward translation’s quality in the matters of accuracy, acceptability and readability. Meanwhile reduction/deletion technique has low accuracy level but still high in acceptability and readability, and borrowing has low readability level but still high in accuracy and acceptability.
