Isi artikel
The translator and translation software have a vital role to understand information in the textbooks and other information media. However, the quality of translation in Indonesia today is still low. Translation plays an important but problematic role. In one hand, there is a variety of translation software, such as transtool, google translate, and other translation software, but conventional translation is still needed. Through conventional translation by professional translators, right message can be delivered to the readers, while translation offered by computer software, such as transtool or google translate, gives problematic results with their unclear message from source language to target language. This paper therefore discusses (1) how the translation and their problems are found in the software, in terms of grammar use, word order, and word choice, which contribute to the low quality of translation, and (2) how it provides comparative analysis of translation from the software and conventional translation.
