The paper first explores cultural concepts for understanding of culture. The second part examines Soemarno's problem of cultural in translation and establishes an experimental definition of cultural difference. Drawing on actual translations between Indonesian and English, the third part discusses the difficulties of translation of the cultural terms. The paper concludes that cultural term always gives the big problem to the translators. It is due to the absence of the cultural words or expressions in target language.
