Like any other investments, investment in skill comapres cost that ahs invested in the present with its return in the future. Such an investment will be successful if the present value of the return is higher that the investment or at least equal. If the present value of its return is lower than the investment, the investment will be a failure. Present value concept is a tool of calculation of investment which individual, firms or organisation must be familiar with. This article indicates that some organisations in indonesia have not yet implemented the present value concept. They simply use pay back period method. if a worker has completed his education, the organisation requires and years service contract.
