Isi artikelThe well known french historian Fernand Braudel (1902 - 1985) has built a grande theorie of world economy (economic monde) from his observation and analysis of the Mediterranean 16th century and the European 15th to 18th century. In this European world economy, which became an economic system of the whole world since the 18th century, capitalism was identical with monopoly. In other words, monopoly was always the inner core of the historical capitalism. The market economy, on the contrary was always trying to opose to the domination of the monopoly. That is why the capitalist system was always identical with the competition of the monopolistic system and the market economy.
