This paper proposes frequency analysis and keyword analysis as a strategy to extract terms which are key or typical of a domain for dictionary style labelling. A critical assessment of the treatment of dictionary labels in English and Setswana dictionaries is presented and keyword analysis as a method is preferred over frequency analysis in the extraction of words which are key to a domain
