The theoritical basis of the Strategic and Structural approaches may be universal, but their techniques are culturally based, therefore the range of its application needs to be broadened. This paper is intended to identify theurapeutic themes that are compatible with the Indonesian worlds view. The themes under discussion are : a) joining, b) individual and joining sessions, c) timing and facing, d) hierarchy in the family and in the therapy session and e) reframing.
