Benign, subglottic and laryngotracheal stenosis remains a challenging problem for the laryngologist. The size, location, and severity of stenoses influence the surgical technique. Laryngotracheoplasty can be performed to enlarge the trachea without shortening the trachea while offering a technically less challenging approach and less risk to the patient.
