Isi artikelGlucose is the most needed substance for almost all body cells, such as myocite, neurons, and blood cells. Glucose levels in the body can be examined using blood glucose measurements. This kind of examination is very important in the diagnosis and management of illness which was caused by carbohydrate metabolic disorders. The characteristics of this study was a pre-experimental study with One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The total samples used in this study were 114 respondences of one group with consecutive sampling method. The blood glucose levels of the samples are examined at 0 hours as a control, then delayed on serum separation from blood cells up to 4 hours, with blood glucose levels measured on every 1 hour to 4 hours. The study was conducted in the Clinical Laboratory of Amelia Medical Check Up Period of March 2012. Glucose levels measurements performed by using the hexokinase method on Automatic Chemistry Analyzer Mindray 200. The obtained data were analyzed by using repeated anova test. Based on the result of changes in blood glucose level obtained on control group (direct measured) with an average 95 mg/dL. Examination with one hour delayed, glucose levels is 90 mg/dL, decrease for about 5mg/dL. Examination with two hours delayed, glucose levels measured on 86 mg/dL, decrease for about 4mg/dL. Examination with three hours delayed, glucose levels is 82 mg/dL, decrease for about 5 mg/dL. Then in the fourth examination by a four-hour delay glucose levels decreased 4 mg/dL to 78 mg/dL. From overall obtained data, an average decrease of blood gluoce levels are 4.25 md/dU hour. The delay separation of serum from blood cells will cause a decrease in the value of the results of blood glucose by hexokinase method.
