Most patients with low back pain can be fully recovered. Some cases are caused by serious illness and need further evaluation. Understanding on the clinical profile of low back pain caused by lumbar disc herniation is needed. To describe the clinical profile of patients suffering from low back pain caused by lumbar disc herniation. Cross-sectional study. Data from 40 consecutive cases of lumbar disc herniation is descriptively analyzed. Data is obtained from 24 (60%) male and 16 (40% female) with age range from 21-71 years, mean 50,4±8,2 years. The most prominent symptoms are sciatic pain (95%), numbness in dermatome region (77,5%), and limb weakness (7,5%). Significant trauma history is present in 82,5% cases. The symptoms range from 2 weeks to 4 years, more prominent in patients with history of trauma. The straight leg raising test are positive in 95% cases. MRI studies showed multiple signifi cant disc herniation in 27,5% cases; most common site is in L4-L5 (72,4%). ENMG (electroneuromyography) examination confirmed the result of MRI. Canal stenosis is present in 17,5% cases and correlated with more signifi - cant morbidities. The lumbar disc herniation incidence is similar between male and female. Younger onset is correlated with signifi cant trauma history. The most common site is L4-L5 level. Multiple site of lumbar disc herniation and canalis stenosis are correlated with more significant morbidities.
