Isi artikelThis paper presents two approaches in solving self similar laminar boundary layer, the shooting method and the method using the constant of homology. One of the objectives is to proved a simple way to demonstrate to students of Fluid Mechanis and / or Heat Transfer classes the mechanism in solving, primarily, the Blasius problem that is central in the discussion of boundary layer flow. The second objective is to arouse the appetite for a numerical approach on the part of the students, i.e. by providing them with a clear example to show that many of the laborious analytical solutions in laminar boundary layer can in fact be attacked with simple numerical procedures.
