Isi artikelPsychic distance has been used as a factor to explain the internationalization pattern of the firms. As a concept, it was first popularized in the Uppsala Model of Internationalization, measuring the distance between the original country and the target country using the macro-level data to predict the pattern of internationalization. However, in the development, other components have been added, such as cultural factors. This paper attempts to provide a thorough literature review of the psychich distance, focusing on the changes in the operation of the concept in research over time. It questions whether the psychic distance is still a valid concept to be used in the global era.
