Isi artikel
Employee selection and training has been a major concern from the very beginning of industrial psychology (e.g Terman, 1904, munsterberg, 1913), and it remains so to this day. Yet, the success rate in selecting and training leaders still leaves much to be desired (e.g. bass, 1990, pp. 851 - 878 , 857 - 878 , burke & day, 1986, porter & mckibbin, 1989). We argue that one important reason for the lackluster track record of many personnel methods is that selection and training methods have ignored the effect of the leadership situation on performance.
