This article explain steps through the process of developing a simple dynamic WAP application - based system information, using mainly open source technologies. This application is an online used books store which allow the end users to select and order books on a specific topic from his / her mobile phone. On a technical point of view, the end users query results are stored in a MySQL database and will be displayed on his / her mobile phone screen. Chosing the languanges and software for this application was straightforward : PHP is quite well suited to build a dynamic WAP application (fast and has plenty functions). MySQL is also perfectly suited in this situation, since the application is non - critical and it only uses simple, data updating, and transaction report.
