A frequent theme to our music is the new millenium and what it portends for the current trends in human resource management. With the apparent advent of the knowledge worker (lee & maurer, 1997) for example, how will that individual be managed and inspired in the future, what will human resource selection systems look like in the year 2010. and how will we conduct our research during the latter part of our academic careers? Almost always, however our futuristic speculations came back to the rhetorical questions of "what do we know ?" "what have we learned ?" and "what does it all mean ?".
