Abstract
Using stable power in NODE Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC) infrastructure networks is a major concern and priority. Nodes are active devices that require an electrical energy supply to operate. The same applies to outdoor cabinet installations on FTTH technology. This is where the active equipment of the Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) network is located. The outdoor cabinet as the location of the active devices in the Fiber To The Home network becomes a system for the power consumption efficiency of the Fiber To The Home network. Electrical loads such as DC power system, AC, optical line termination (OLT), and switches are the main electrical loads that require power in Fiber To The Home (FTTH) outdoor cabinets. Research shows that FTTH networks are more energy efficient than HFC networks. This research focuses on showing the impact of the network reconstruction conversion process on the power consumption efficiency of an existing network, Hybrid Fiber Coaxial (HFC), to an FTTH (Fiber To The Home) network. And the savings in monthly electricity bills by continuing to use the HFC network is around 19% of the monthly bill.
