Isi artikelPlaget's theory on cognitive development was develop to deal with genetic epistemology not to solve problems in education. Nevertheless many educators make reference to Piaget when discussing cognitive development. The present paper attempts to state the basic tenets of Piaget's theory and its application to education specially in the teaching learning process. To understand it fully, comparison is made between his theory and those offered by other genetic epistemologists such as James Bark Baldwin.
