Environmental ethics is primarily concerned with problems arising as a pratical consequence of man's dealing with nature. In turn, this practical concern faces theoretical or speculative questions regarding the relationship between man and nature. On the practical level, we need a decision procedure which is not mancentered (anthropocentric). On the theoretical level, particularly in process philosophy, a new alliance between man and nature is pleaded. However being a cosmology which interprets nature from above this effort faces the epistemological problem of anthropomorphism.
