The objective of the research is to compare the local financial performance before and after the implementation of regional autonomy. To measure the regional economic growth, three variables —growth of own revenue (PAD), share of PAD and the elasticity of growth are used as the indicators. The research was conducted in Java and Bali. The result shows that the financial performance index during Regional Autonomy is positively affected after the implementation of regional autonomy. The influence is especially from the Elasticity "of growth of own revenue (PAD). The research also finds that die economic growth has strong influence to the financial performance.
