Currently Government, House of Representative, and the Regional Representatives Council is preparing for amendment of the Law No. 32 of 2004. One of the basic changing of this law is separating of the law of the village. According to the Law No. 22/1999 and No 32/2004, the village became part of the Local Government Act, as an integral unit of local government arrangements. In fact, during the Old Order and New Order Era, the existence of the village is set by their Law independently such as No.5 / 1974 and Law No. 19?1965. This paper suggest that amendment can be started if the legal framework has been agreed and then the substance of the Act has been designed. Moreover, there are various forums and media that discourse a variety of perspective and interests debate on the substantive aspect of village law. With the perspective of decentralization and autonomy of the village, this paper aims to enrich the discourse of the laws of the Village.
