| Reading has become an important skill that we really have to master in order to get information that can be beneficial to us. Especially reading comprehension skill which is where we can enhance our academic and performance in school. So, this research was conducted to look at students' perceptions of using Marvel Comics on their reading comprehension skill, whether the impact of the Marvel Comics that are being used is positive or negative for students. The participants were students in grade 5 from class 5E elementary school - Tarakanita, Gading Serpong. The data of this study were students’ responses obtained through questionnaires in a form of an online survey using Google Form and it will be distributed by an English teacher who taught in grade 5. In the data collection process, students were asked to fill out a questionnaire containing 19 statements that were divided into two parts, the first one is to see the students’ perception toward the use of Marvel Comics as reading materials and the second one is to see the students perception on the impact of using Marvel Comics to their reading comprehension. The findings of this study shows the students have positive perception towards the use of Marvel comics as reading materials and they perceive positively the impacts of Marvel comics on their reading comprehension Therefore, based on the findings of this study it can be said that teachers in school can take consideration of Marvel comics as reading materials to give impacts on students reading comprehension skills. |
