| Grammarly has become one of the most used writing tools that is used to assess the writer’s writing. Grammarly has a lot of advantages of using it while writing. It helps on providing new vocabularies that it can use and fixing the structure of the sentence. However, Grammarly also has some disadvantages such as connection errors and changing the context of the text. Most of this research come from researching schools, and in this project, the research is about finding the perception of hotel employees towards using Grammarly for assessing their writings. This research is a qualitative with questionnaires and interviews as the method of collecting data. This research resulted that staff members have a positive perceptions towards the use of Grammarly and the problems experienced when using Grammarly. They said that Grammarly helped them in writing by providing suggestions in fixing grammar, punctuation, and spelling. It also helps in providing suggestions in improving clarity in writing conciseness and improves the readability of the writing by adding variety of words and the delivery. Grammarly also helps to save time because the feedback from Grammarly arrives instantly compared to requesting feedback from peers. However, they found that Grammarly needs a stable connection for it to work properly and also required critical proofreading because some feedback from Grammarly is misleading where it has a habit of changing passive voices to active. Staff members continue to use Grammarly because it helped them provide feedback very fast even though some feedback are inaccurate. |
