This study aimed to find out students' perceptions towards oral corrective feedback in speaking class. Due to this objective, the three research questions are raised: (1) What is the students’ perception towards oral corrective feedback given by native teacher ?; (2) What is the students’ perception towards oral corrective feedback given by non-native teacher ?. The theory that was used for questionnaire of students’ perception towards oral corrective feedback by Muyashoha, A. B. (2019). The participants of this research consisted of 38 high school students from SMA Santo Bellarminus Menteng, Central Jakarta, Indonesia. The school level of the participant is grade 10 science and social students. The researcher provided the students the questionnaires containing 16 items to see their perception towards oral corrective feedback in speaking class in the data collection procedure. Next, 2 students were interviewed to strengthen also confirmed the questionnaire result. This research data was analyzed in qualitative method. The research was analyzed in detailed by explained throughout the result of questionnaire and interview. The findings result showed that native English teacher had negative perceptions from the students in giving oral feedback and positive perceptions found from their non-native English teacher regarding oral corrective feedback. Most students agreed that the oral corrective feedback given by non-native English teacher more helpful for them. Meanwhile, the results of this study also showed that the oral corrective feedback give by non-native English teacher can make the students felt confident and help them to understand the oral feedback. |
