Isi artikelUsing the structure-conduct-performance paradigm, the current study explores the competition in Indonesian banking industry. Indonesian banks can be grouped into three groups. Each group pursues a different strategy in order to stay competitive. Bigger banks can rely on their well-established system and networking, and high profile sales promotion to attract the consumers. Smaller banks rely on giving higher interest to client’s deposits. Some suggestions are given to smaller banks to improve their competitive position.
