Isi artikelThe aim of this study is estimate the determine factor of the the investor's risk tolerance. The factors are the demographic variables of gender, age, marital status, occupation, income, and education. These variables are used as modifiers to the level of investor risk tolerance and classify individuals into categories of risk tolerance. The analysis tools are Cross-tabulation to determine the relationship between independent variables and dependent variable. The results are (1) there was no difference in risk tolerance by gender and marital status, but (2) there are differences in risk tolerance by age, occupation, education, and income. Men are not more tolerant of risk than women and single individuals are not more tolerant of risk than the family. But older people are less tolerant of risk than younger people. Self-employment is associated with increased and decreased levels of risk tolerance. Individuals with more income have a greater risk tolerance than a lower income. And, finally, individuals with higher education level were associated with an increased risk tolerance.
