This study aims to analyze the impact of changes in U.S. dollar exchange rate and paper price on the performance of publishing and printing industry. The research data is publication of BPS during 1998-2008. The research data includes the U.S. dollar exchange rate, paper price, and the performance of publishing and printing industry. This study uses panel data regression analysis with the OLS estimation method. The results showed that the U.S. dollar exchange rate changes has no impact on the performance of publishing and printing industry. This Industry is able to withstand the crisis. This is because most of the raw material of publishing and printing industry instead of imported input. This industry has a low import content. Meanwhile, the paper price changes have an impact on the performance of publishing and printing industry. This is because the paper is the main raw material for this industry.
