Quantitative discussion on engineering matters generally go through two main stages : 1) formulation of mathematical equation in accordance with the topic being discussed and 2) solution for the equation. The established mathematical equation can be in the form of algebra equation, ordinary differential equation and partial differential equation or combination of these equations. The way to solve the equations include analitical method, infinite series and numerical method. Since only a few problems can be solved using the analitical method or the infinite series, the numerical method deserves to be better understood, especially when computer can provide us with a great deal of assistance.
