The use of online technology applications as a pedagogical instrument nowadays is more acknowledged and advanced since the covid-19 pandemic; one of them is Quizizz. Quizizz has been applied in many countries in various fields and stages of education, especially in English language learning. The utilization of Quizizz in English education has attracted many researchers to study, so it can be utilized appropriately to accomplish the pedagogical goals based on the student’s needs. This study aims to discover adolescent students' attitudes regarding their behavior, cognition, and affection toward using Quizizz as a formative assessment tool in Stella Maris Secondary School, North Jakarta. To achieve the objective, a survey and purposive interview were conducted accordingly. Fifty-six 7th-grade students responded to 21 items of the questionnaire. Five students were selected to be interviewed to strengthen and verify the quantitative data. The result of the study shows that students had a positive attitude toward implementing Quizizz as a formative assessment tool. There are no significant differences between male and female students regarding attitudes toward Quizizz. Students accepted Quizizz as a favor assessment tool to enhance their language skills; as a practical, exciting, and challenging tool to play more in language learning. Because of the benefits of Quizizz, students would like to use Quizizz more in the future than traditional assessments using paper. |
