Interactive digital textbook (IDT) is the improved version of basic textbooks. However, improvements made doesn’t make IDT to be free from errors. This study aimed to evaluate the learning objects’ quality of an English interactive digital textbook that hadn’t been evaluated using the framework curated by Leacock, Belfer & Nesbit’s Learning Object Review Instrument (LORI) 1.5. The subject of the research was an English IDT developed by a private team containing two modules with the topic of countable and uncountable nouns. The aspects being evaluated were content quality, learning goal alignment, presentation design, and interaction usability. Qualitative research was implemented in analyzing each aspect in the form of comments in an evaluation sheet adapted from LORI 1.5. The results showed that the quality of learning objects in the IDT were quite similar to four aspects of LORI’s criteria. However, there were some areas the learning objects lacked, namely the accuracy of an interactive activity, clarity of the instruction, and absence of learning goals. Moreover, some suggestions were made for the developer to consider evaluating and for teachers in implementing the IDT. |
