The quality of learning objects employed to support instruction at various levels of education is frequently not guaranteed. Insufficient facilitation might also be overlooked, which can affect learners’ success. Previous studies found that the quality of learning objects was still lacking, and there is a need to explore learning objects’ facilitation toward learners. Thus, this research aims to evaluate the learning objects for young language learners to ensure their quality. It also wants to observe the facilitation of the learning objects towards young language learners’ characteristics. Two research questions are formulated to reach the objectives: (1) What are the strengths and weaknesses of the English online module for young language learners created by the prospective teachers of the English Education Department based on the Learning Object Review Instrument (LORI) specifications? (2) How does the English online module created by the prospective teachers of the English Education Department facilitate young language learners? The research data was the learning objects of an English online module created by the prospective teachers of an English Education Department. The research design employed content and deductive qualitative analyses involving quantitative and qualitative methods. Based on the content analysis, the strengths can be discovered in the presentation design, interaction usability, learning goal alignment, and motivation. Content quality and feedback and adaptation were moderate; however, they contain some weaknesses. Meanwhile, the deductive qualitative analysis shows that the English online module can facilitate young language learners by providing the proper ways to attend to the characteristics. |
