This Study aimed to explore the use of video conferencing during online learning and investigate English lecturers of Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia's Attitudes towards the use of video conferencing in synchronous learning. Three components of attitude that are scrutinized in this study are: affective (feelings or emotion), cognitive (beliefs or ideas), and behavioral (behavior towards someone or something). The participants of this study were 12 English Education Department Lecturers, Faculty of Education and Language, Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia. The lecturers were asked to fill in a questionnaire consisting of 27 likert items. The interview and observation were conducted to further validate the lecturers' responses in the survey and to observe how synchronous learning was conducted in the classes. The data were analyzed based on three components of attitudes. The result of the study showed that the lecturers has a positive attitude towards the use of video conferencing in teaching. They felt comfortable and confident with the use of video conferencing. They also believed that video conferencing helped them to conduct teaching activity in synchronous learning. |
