Abstract
The current research aims to find out the students’ perception towards Extensive Reading on Fiction course and its assignments. It was conducted in the English Education Department of Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia. The participants were 43 students of batch 2018-2020 who have taken Extensive Reading on Fiction class. A questionnaire was administered to see what their perception is regarding having ER on Fiction course and the assignments. This research also uses an interview to find out the reason why the students chose the answers in the questionnaire part. The participants of this research responded positively regarding having Extensive Reading course on Fiction. Through this course, the students feel it can help them increase their motivation in reading, especially in reading fiction books. From the results of the questionnaire and interview, the assignments in the Extensive Reading on Fiction course such as Book Report, Vocabulary Journal, Group Discussion and Creative Project are also activities that students enjoy, especially Creative Project. Most of the students agreed through these assignments, they can improve their vocabulary knowledge, grammar, writing, speaking, and even widen their general knowledge.
