Introduction: Diagnosing and treating jumper's knee is not complicated. How- ever, without appropriate attention, diagnosis could be missed and treatment would be less appropriate leading to healing time extension and chronic injury. Case: A high jump athlete, 17-year-old male, came with pain on his knee since 5 months ago. At first, pain was only felt after exercise but then also occurred before exercise after getting injury from athletic championship. Pain disap- peared during exercise and all daily activities. Physical examination found ten- derness on the upper insertion of patellar tendon. Treatment by ultrasound had been applied but it didn't reduce pain whereas exercise program was still going on. He was encouraged to cease jumping and to undergo exercise therapy consists of stretching and thigh muscle strengthening. Pain disappeared after treatment for one month. Conclusions: Pain in this case, according to its characteristics, was very typical sign for jumper's knee grade 11. Treatment must include withdrawing from activ- ity triggering pain. Combination of ultrasound and exercise therapy, thigh muscle stretching and strengthening, help to reduce pain and to speed healing.
