Background: Growth and development of children affected by nutritional sta- tus. The child nutrition related with feeding pattern. Breast milk had an impor- tant role in child growth and development. The additional food also support this concern. The parents knowledge and attitude related with the succeed of infant feeding. Methods: This was a descriptive study, done in the 2 playgroup in East Jakarta. Sample was done by consecutive sampling. Questionnaires was given to par- ents and interviewed was done Results: There was 61 responden divided as 38 % housewife and 62 % work- ing mother. Ninty percent gave breastmilk, while only 21,3 % gave exclusively. Milk fomula gave by mother before 4 month old in 52.45 %, and there was a practice to gave additional food before 4 month old in 14.8 %responden. The group of non exclusively breastmilk would gave milk formula earlier (66.7 %). Conclusions: The number of exclusive breastfeeding was low and parents practice to give additional food was our concern in this survey. The role of Physician was important to educate the parents and other member of family to give nutrition for their child.
